Product Characteristics
-
18Cr2Ni4WA has high strength, toughness and good hardenability, and is a high-grade steel with a relatively high nickel content. After carburizing and secondary quenching and low-temperature tempering, the surface has high hardness and wear resistance, and the core has high strength and toughness. But its process performance is poor; deformation resistance during forging is large. After normalizing, forged parts have high hardness and require long-time high-temperature tempering to soften. Machinability is poor. Generally, it is used after carburizing, quenching and tempering, and can also be used after quenching-and-tempering treatment.
-
Industrial Application
-
18Cr2Ni4WA is used to manufacture the large-section carburized parts requiring high strength, good toughness and low notch sensitivity, such as: large gears, transmission shafts, crankshafts, spline shafts, piston pins, and blade feeding control worms in precision machine tools; in addition, it can also be used for manufacturing high-strength quenched and tempered parts subjected to heavy loads and vibration, such as connecting rods, crankshafts and transmission shafts of heavy or medium machinery. After quenching-and-tempering followed by nitriding treatment, it can be used for crankshafts of high-power high-speed engines.
