Product Characteristics
-
4Cr3Mo2MnVNbB (Y4) steel is a new hot casting mold steel specially designed for copper alloy casting molds, designed and developed considering domestic mineral resources, close to the 3Cr3Mo steel type but with trace Nb and B added. Compared with Y10 steel, Cr and Si contents in 4Cr3Mo2MnVNbB (Y4) steel are reduced, thus decreasing carbide inhomogeneity, while B is used to improve hardenability and high-temperature strength reduced by the lower Cr and Si contents. The addition of trace Nb, whose carbides are difficult to dissolve in austenite, also enhances the stability of M6C and MC carbides, thereby refining grains, reducing overheating sensitivity, and improving the thermal strength and stability.
-
Industrial Application
-
It is mainly used for copper alloy casting molds, and also applicable to medium- and small-size press molds, hot-extrusion molds, and hot-forging molds.
-
Company Product Applications
-
It is mainly applied to mechanical equipment operating under high temperature, high pressure and high load.
